New Years Resolutions 2014

Hey guys!

Happy New Year!

2013 has really flown by and I can't believe we're already 5 days into 2014. For me, 2013 started off well but got worse by the month. I completed my GCSEs with straight A's which I was really proud of, got to meet my idols at Summer in the City, and visited Greece as well as America (for the first time!). However, unfortunately my Gramps passed away which made things a lot harder for me and my family but it has also given me determinatation to make the most of every minute!

To try and make this the best year for me, I'm going to attempt to stick at these resolutions:

1- Think positive - I can be extremely pessimistic at times, especially with my school work. Instead of getting on with things I fret and stress out about how much work I've actually got to do and then how badly I'm going to do it, and this needs to stop!

2- Do well at school - I am aiming to study English Lit at university and I really want to achieve this but the only way of doing so is to work hard ( :( )

3- Spend less and save more - At the moment I seem to be wasting a lot of my money on small things, such as nail polishes and candles etc, which is adding up. I want to save up for a holiday with friends before university as well as a new camera, which isn't going to happen if I don't stop spending!

4- Do more for Charity - I personally don't feel like I do enough for other people who are less fortunate than me. I want to be able to say 'I raised so much for this charity which does this...' Rather than 'yeah I'm going to help one day' and not actually doing anything. To help with this resolution, I'm growing to choose a different charity for every blog. This time it's Roy Castle, which is a charity especially focusing on the cure of Lung Cancer. Donate here -> http://www.roycastle.org/lung-cancer

I hope I can achieve all of these resolutions to hopefully make me an all round better person!

What are your New Years Resolutions?

Mini Haul

Hey :)

So, as Christmas approaches, we all do our Christmas shopping. Having almost finished, I went into town to buy a few lasts gifts for family and friends...and myself....

I shouldn't be allowed out shopping shopping by myself - this is bad!

I first ventured into Lush. Every time I go into town now I always end up in Lush. The bath bombs in the winter always seem to draw me in as they are just so warming and baths at Christmastime are the best. Today I bought 'Cinders' which is one I haven't tried before. It was sort of orangey - perhaps I'll do a review of it in the future.

The next thing I bought was my first Yankee Candle. The main reason I haven't bought one before is because I know they are SO expensive. I decided to break my Yankee-candle-virginity today as this one was 25% off (I know!) and I'm having a craze for candles at bath time at the moment (again, it must the the season).

I then went into Jack Wills and bought this cosy head warmer thingy. It's so nice and fleecy on the inside meaning it doesn't itch my forehead. I've been looking for one of these for a while now and even though this was quite expensive, I know it's good quality so will last throughout this winter and many more to come.

I gave in to the temptation drifting over to me from TopShop. I never really buy jewellery from TopShop as it is ridiculously over priced but today I gave in. I've been wanting a midi ring for a while and I saw this ring duo and had to get it. (Ps I hope you like the Christmassy nails - I'm left handed hence why this one is a bit skew wif. Also, I tend to do patterns on my nails weekly, if you're interested in me blogging about it then let me know in the comments :))

I then topped up on concealer. I'm loving the Rimmel London's Wake Me Up Concealer. I find it gives great coverage and a nice glow as well.

At the Barry M counter thingy (surprise surprise) I saw this. When I first paint my nails, I make a right mess and this will be so useful to me. It is also fairly cheap being about £5.

I couldn't resist buying nail polishes ok. I saw the one on the left ('Teal') and was drawn to the shininess of it. The colour is also really pretty and I don't have many greens anyway so that was a strong reason for buying it I thought. The one on the right (doesn't have a name but I THINK it's called 'Christmas Eve' but I could just be making that up) was free because I spent over £6 on Barry M (oops) and I love the colours of the tinsel type things inside.

That's all I bought today! If you want a review on any of the products I bought then let me know and if you have any tell me what you think of them!

Thanks for reading :)

Pamper Evening

Hey guys :)

If I ever have a stressful or tiring day, I always like to treat myself to a pamper evening.

I always start off with a bath, which I like to surround with candles - which are my current obsession. The top and bottom left are both from a super cheap shop called Tiger. The top left is a tea light holder (£1) which I put a plain version of the two candles at the bottom (pack of 4 is £1). The bottom left are is actually spice jars (2 for £1) with pink and purple lids which, again, I put a taller candle inside.

I then use a bath bomb to fit the relaxing mood. I highly recommend the bath bombs from Lush as they are full of colourful and glittery surprises as well as leaving your skin really soft and smooth. This particular one was called 'Golden Wonder' and was a Christmas special.

I then like to use a body lotion once dry. As you can see, I have quite a few as I never like to use them up so I end up buying/receiving more and not using any up completely! My favourite one at the moment, alongside the Yardly English Rose, is the Ted Baker Body SoufflĂ© as it smells amazing and leaves your skin really smooth.

It is then that I like to use random little testers that I have picked up from places, mainly Boots. I particularly like these two as the exfoliator isn't too harsh and the moisturiser isn't too heavy.

Finally, I like to put on my favourite pyjamas and slippers, ready to either relax in bed with a good book or do something girly like a face mask or painting my nails.

Thanks for reading, let me know what you think!

New York

Hey :)

I haven't written a post in so long - apologies! I have just finished my first term of sixth form and even though it's so much work, it's great fun! I have done so much in so little time, including going to New York in October! Here are a few of my favorite picture :) -

 Central Park was so pretty!

These ducks were scattered around CP which was so cool and I took one home :)
From the top of Rockefeller Building. The view was amazing and in this photo I used the miniaturizing effect on my camera, blurring the top and bottom of the photo.

The sunset was so pretty and magical.
Times Square - my favourite place ever!
This was a restaurant called Ellen's Stardust. The waiters and waitresses were people aiming for Broadway and would just burst into song. They were incredibly talented and made breakfast so much  more unique!
 9/11 Memorial.

Brooklyn Bridge! It was also here I bought a Statue of Liberty hat :P
 SoL
 New York Skyline
The barbie section of Toys r Us - if only I was younger and it was acceptable for me to spend more time in this part than I did!
I loved how each street was completely different whilst looking the same. Surprisingly I actually loved the tall buildings shadowing me.

One more of Times Square and a minute portion of the taxis.

This was my first trip to America and New York is now my favourite place ever! I would love to live here one day - the city bustle would be so exciting!

Have you ever been to New York? What did you think of it?

What's in my bag?

Hey :)

So today I thought I'd do the 'What's in my bag?' tag.

This is my bag. As you can probably tell it's from Cath Kidston and I got it for my 16th birthday last year so I don't know the cost - sorry! It is a really nice shoulder bag which is strong and sturdy - it has lasted for 9 months so far and is still going strong! It isn't a huge bag which is a good thing in my view as it means you can only fit essentials in so aren't carrying around useless rubbish.
I have also just realised that there is a lot of Cath Kidston stuff in the post due to my bed covers!

This is my purse and I can never leave the house without it! It is from Radley (as you can probably tell) but I did get it for my birthday about 4/5 years ago so it's unlikely you can still buy it. This purse is really great quality as it is leather. It is also a really great size as it holds all my money and cards.

The next thing in my bag is my make up bag. For some reason my picture isn't uploading properly so here it is on the website (LINK) (Cath Kidston again I'm afraid!). Anyway, in my make up bag I have a hand cream which is essential in the winter months for sure! I also have a lip balm, gloss and mascara. I don't wear heaps of make up hence the reason for not very much! I will also carry some spot cream with me if I have a sudden breakout and will reapply it every couple of hours.

The last thing on my list is my phone. I have the iPhone 4 and I can't leave the house without it! I carry it and my headphones in a rubber purse (which matches my phone case) from Blott to stop it getting scratched and also to make it easier to fine haha!

If you have done this tag before please let me know in the comments as I would love to read it!

REVIEW - No7 Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner

Hey :)

So this is my first review of a make up product! I am going to talk about the No7 Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner.
I bought it in Boots for £8.00 (LINK) and I thought it was a pretty good price.

This was my first felt tip eyeliner I tried and I decided to go for a felt tip rather than liquid purely because it is easier to apply, especially when getting ready for school. I have this in the colour brown/black. I chose this shade due to my blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes as I didn't want anything too sharp and I wanted a natural look.

When applying, it doesn't come onto your skin that well with the very tip so I found myself using the edge of it. This isn't too much of a problem unless you want a really thin line.

When wearing eye shadow with this, I found that it doesn't show up very well and in this case I would prefer to have a black rather than the brown/black.

Overall, I think I would rate this product 7/10 as it acts as a good eyeliner and gives a natural look but doesn't apply using the tip which I wanted. I have bought a different felt tip eyeliner to replace this however will carry on using it if I need a natural look.

Have any of you bought this? What do you think of it?

Beauty Haul #1

Hey :)

So yesterday I went shopping as I needed to replace a few of my current beauty products and also venture out into different brands!

The first thing I bought was the Amie face wash and cleansing wipes. I have used the face wash for a couple of months now (I will do a review soon) and I love it! It really has helped clear up my spots and make them appear less angry. After this good impression, I decided to give the face wipes a go as well.

The next thing I bought was the Supercat eyeliner pen from Soap&Glory. I bought this because I have previously been using the No7 eyeliner pen but haven't been hugely impressed by it so wanted to try something different and this caught my eye (pun not intended) - especially since everyone has been raving about this brand.

I bought two nail polishes - one from Miss Sporty and one from the Boots Natural Collection. I always route for buying Barry M because I know it's good quality for a cheap price, however, this time I decided to give these a go.

The last thing I bought was the Miss Sporty Dr Balm colour Glam Kiss. I have really pigmented lips already so don't really need anything to give my lips any colour. This Dr Balm is really good at moisturising my lips and adds a nice glossy finish.

Have any of you guys used any of these? What do you think of them?
